Missoula is home to some of the best Montana fly fishing guides in the state.
RFO is fortunate to work with many of them.

Our fly fishing guides have spent more time on the water than most of the trout! Renegade Flyfishing guides have the ability to handle any situation. All of our guides are very knowledgeable and skilled anglers, as well as excellent oarsmen. All of RFO’s guides are licensed, insured, and first aid certified.

Eric Ederer

My name is Eric Ederer and I am the owner of Renegade Fly Fishing Outfitters.
When I was a kid I dreamed of making my way through life with fly fishing as its focal point. I have forged friendships with many of our terrific clients, met life-long angling companions, met my wife and started an awesome family. All of this because I love to fly fish. I suppose I owe Montana a great deal of gratitude as well. After 15 years of guiding in Montana I still love the whole game. It has changed over the years and yet my commitment remains the same: create the best Montana fly fishing experience for every client, every time. That is my personal guarantee. RFO, Renegade Flyfishing Outfitters invites you to come and see how many ways Montana touch your soul. I'm still counting!

John Wilcox - Began guiding in western Montana at age 19 and has become one of the top guides in the Missoula valley. His sense of humor is outweighed only by his skill as a fisherman and instructor. His knowledge base includes virtually every river in the state and he can be found fishing on his own every day he is not guiding. "Cheddar's" other passions include waterfowl hunting, ice fishing and wood carving. We're still not sure why his nickname is Cheddar. He isn't even from Wisconsin.

TJ Migneault - He might be the uncrowned king of the Lower Clark Fork, but he knows the Bitterroot, Rock Creek and Missouri like very few others. T.J. opts to fish all over the state and has chosen a life of destitution in exchange for that freedom. He will be the most patient and respectful person you will ever spend a day in the boat with.

Nick Stipech - Nick has been guiding on the Missoula area for years and we are lucky to have him at our disposal. An avid waterfowler, he can be found floating with his lab, Flicka, looking for rising trout and rising pheasants. He is a true outdoorsman and will provide you with knowledgable conversations about river dynamics, entymology and trout.

Kirk Gammill - Kirk operates Adipose Guide Service on the Trinity River in California during October, Novermber and December. So between steelhead and Montana trout we figure he is on the water about 200 days a year. He is an avid streamer fisherman and loves to hunt the biggest fish in the river. He is a veteran guide and we hire him as often as possible.

Geoff Ogden - "Hefe" has been guiding anglers and hunters in Montana since the early 90's. He used to look a bit like Frank Zappa but now we think he looks like Tom Selleck. He is incredibly patient and mellow in the boat and is a great teacher to the first-time angler.Like the rest of these guys, he fishes more in a year than most people fish in their lives. His angling experiences have taken him to Belize, Brazil, Hawaii, Alaska and Guatemala.
